The diverse and varied terrain of this karst landscape offers endless possibilities for off-road cycling. Its web of tracks, dirt roads and forest trails resembles a labyrinth in which you can explore this fascinating, rugged landscape. On your cycling trip you may wish to be accompanied by experienced cyclists or perhaps prefer to set out on your own, equipped with maps, directions and other necessities.

Villa Dane thus serves as a starting point and junction of cycling trips suitable for individuals as well as for families. We offer cycling tours of different levels of difficulty and also provide a bicycle repair service and rental of cycling equipment. In case of problems with your bike, we will make sure it’s repaired overnight so that you are able to continue your trip the next day. Villa Dane is therefore also perfect for passer-by cyclists who need fast, quality bike service.

	EASIER TRIPS
	Natural and Cultural Heritage of the Karst *(From Lipica to the Škocjan Caves Park)*
	This easier but nevertheless very interesting cycling tour takes us to see the Lipizzaner horses first and then continues to Škocjan Caves Park where you can descend into the underground world of karstic caves. Suitable for all levels of cyclist.
	Quick Round Trip of the Karst *(Cycling along the Divača Circle)*
	The Divača Circle is a typical circular tour encompassing most of the karstic features. According to the participants’ abilities, the tour can be made shorter and thus also suitable for families with children.
	INTERMEDIATE TRIPS
	Across the Rocky Heart of the Karst *(From Dutovlje along the Pliska trail and back)*
	On this tour you will get to know the characteristics of the harsh karst climate and landscape defied by the resilient human spirit and a joy for living. An incredibly colourful tour suitable for all cyclists.

	From the Valleys to the Hilltops *(Along the valley of the Raša River and the village of Skopo)*
	This is one of the few tours that wind along a karst river. We reach the peak after a climb to Štanjel Castle, the rich cultural heritage and geographic position of which make it one of the crown jewels of the Karst. The tour meanders along relatively easy trails, although due to its length it is recommended for more experienced cyclists.
	DIFFICULT TRIPS
	The Karst of Two Countries *(A circular tour across Italian and Slovenian karst)*
	A very diversified tour leading from Slovenia to Italy and back across karst meadows and forests. We will ascend three peaks of the lower Karst and enjoy views of the sea. Suitable for experienced riders on full-suspension bikes.
	Across the Peaks of the Karst *(Ascent to Vremščica)*
	Vremščica is one of the higher hills of the lower Karst with a beautiful plateau scenery just below its peak. We will cycle along a designated track past endless pastures to its very top, from where there are interesting descents in different directions. Suitable for intermediate to advanced riders.
